The Aluna Spirometer requires local Barometric Pressure data to ensure accurate spirometry readings. We rely on the cloud server weather.gov for phones without a built-in barometer to provide a pressure reading.
Unfortunately, if the service is down, we cannot do much until it's restored. However, if there are any network issues, we can suggest some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the problem.
- Restart your phone
- Switch between WIFI and cellular data
- Try using a 2nd phone or tablet in your household
- Disable Data Saver: Android Settings > Connections > Data Usage, Turn off Data Saver
- Try again in a few hours
Android: Disable Data Saver
- Open Android Settings
- Tap on Connections
- Select Data Usage
- Turn off Data Saver
International Usage
It is important to keep in mind that spirometry cannot be performed on phones that lack a barometer outside of the United States.
Upgrade Phone
If you're seeing the "Barometric pressure not available" error message frequently, it might be worth considering upgrading to a new phone that comes with a barometer.
